San Francisco General Hospital Foundation’s sole purpose is to fund San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center programs that enhance patient care and comfort.
In 2008 San Francisco voters approved Proposition A by a margin of 84% to Rebuild San Francisco General Hospital. The new hospital will utilize a base-isolated foundation, the safest and most seismically–resistant technology available today. It will include nine stores, two underground and seven above, and will significantly increase the number of acute care beds, operating rooms and emergency department capacity. The new building will be LEED certified for environmental design and is slated for completion in 2015.
